This class will aim to get you comfortable handling bees with an experienced beekeeper.
Topics covered are:
what equipment you need and how to use it
how to install your nuc
how to test for varroa
how to grow a strong colony for honey production
hive inspections and decision making
how to interpret hive conditions
We will also walk you through the pests and diseases you may encounter in a bee hive and show you how do do a varroa mite wash.
Please bring your bee protection clothing.
